YEREVAN. – Armenia's Special Investigation Service has launched a criminal case based on the reports of journalists Sargis Gevorgyan and Ani Gevorgyan.

The statement released by the service said the reporters had petitioned on violence used by the police officers against them.

On June 23 journalists came to the police department where detained activists were kept. Sargis G. and Ani G. suffered bodily injuries as a result of violence used by police.

Ani G. said police officers prevented her from carrying out her job.
