The residents of Vardakar village of Armenia’s Shirak Region demand compensation from Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan.   

Karapetyan, who on Tuesday visited the hailstorm-affected communities of the Shirak Region, received an unfriendly welcome in the aforesaid village.

“We now face a problem, and we have no helping hand. Now, you have come, [but] you definitely will not solve the problem,” an angry villager told the minister.       

In turn, Karapetyan promised that the ministry will assess the damage and try to help the villagers, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from location. 

A hailstorm hit the Shirak Region on Monday at around 5pm. As a result, the harvest was completely damaged in twelve communities.
