YEREVAN. – Armenia has repeatedly stated that you have to sit at the negotiating table and based on equal conditions, but it has not stated that Nagorno-Karabakh must join the Customs Union.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly Faction Head Vahram Baghdasaryan told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
And commenting on EurAsEC Institute Director General Vladimir Lepyokhin’s statement, according to which Armenia did not become a founding member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) due to its tough stance on the Karabakh issue, Baghdasaryan stressed.
“We don’t consider Armenia’s position on this matter to be tough; I don’t think that we have to change it.
“I believe the previously existing technical problems [in Armenia’s EaEU accession process] are solved. At present, the three member countries [Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus] of the Eurasian Economic Union are discussing the relevant agreements, and in the near future, during the summer, the meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Russia also will be held, during which a decision will be made.”
