YEREVAN. – Armenia's Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan paid a working visit to Shirak Region on Wednesday to examine the villages affected by hail storm earlier this week.

The head of Cabinet was accompanied by Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan, governor of Shirak Region Feliks Tsolakyan and other officials.

The PM visited the villages affected by hail, talked to farmers to learn their concerns and discussed possible options of providing financial assistance.

Hovik Abrahamyan said the commissions had been formed to evaluate the extent of damage in short terms. The government will assess and make decisions on targeted financial aid as soon as the commissions submit results.

Prime Minister talked to farmers about other problems, among them water supply, construction of schools. The government will try to settle the mentioned problems, he assured.
