YEREVAN. – Haykakan Zhamanak daily’s reliable sources inform that Armenia is unable to receive in any way from the Russia-led Customs Union (CU) a favorable customs treatment for about a thousand types of “sensitive” products, the daily reported.

“This is about the well-known list of products which will have to be charged much higher customs duties if they are imported from non-CU member countries.

“And [Armenia’s] Eurasian Economic Union [EaEU] accession with the recommended conditions means that the prices of these products will sharply increase in Armenia.

“According to informed sources, this is the main reason why Armenia’s EaEU accession is delayed, albeit the Armenian authorities publicly deny that there is such a problem,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
