YEREVAN. – The degree of tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia has not increased, director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan said during a press conference on Tuesday.

Commenting on the latest infiltration attempt, Iskandaryan said the incidents occurring in border area are “a part of the current situation”.

However, the number of incidents depends on deteriorating or improving control of the border.

Asked whether the incident can lead to large-scale hostilities, Iskandaryan said “at the moment the likelihood of changes in the status quo on Nagorno-Karabakh is equal to zero”.   

Three Azerbaijan is saboteurs infiltrated into Karvachar Region of NKR. Two of them were held captive and one was killed during a special operation. One of them killed an Armenian officer and wounded a woman.
