No European Union (EU) accession candidate will be able to carry out all the necessary conditions in the next five years.
New President of the European Commission, former Luxembourg PM Jean-Claude Juncker stated the aforesaid speaking before the MEPs.
“Over the next five years, there won’t be any new member states acceding to the European Union.
“It’s hard to imagine that one of the candidate states with whom we are negotiating will have, in time, met all the accession criteria,” he noted.
Juncker added, however, that the EU accession talks will continue with all candidates.
