MOSCOW. – Armenian Meri Kocharyan, 20, who was injured as a result of the subway accident in Moscow, is undergoing surgery at present.
Armenian Embassy in Russia adviser Edvard Jambazyan told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“But the doctors still say that she is in very critical condition. There is no news about her citizenship either, since none of her relatives has yet come to the hospital. But this is not important; doctors are doing everything possible,” Jambazyan added.
Meri Kocharyan sustained a spine fracture and a brain injury. Aside from Kocharyan, another young Armenian woman, Anna Bulghadaryan, 23, also was injured in the accident. Bulghadaryan has suffered a bone fracture and a traumatic shock.
Three subway cars were derailed in Moscow Subway on Tuesday morning. As a result, the total number of dead and injured is 162, 22 of whom have lost their lives. There are 129 injured in hospitals, including two young Armenian women who are in intensive care units. A criminal case is instituted on the incident.
