YEREVAN. – Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan is uninformed as to why Russian-Armenian businessman Levon Hayrapetyan—who is from the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, by birth—was detained in Moscow on Tuesday.
“Levon Hayrapetyan is a worthy son of the Armenian and Karabakh people, and he has greatly contributed to our fight and also in Artsakh’s development in the post-[Karabakh] war era,” Ohanyan added.
The Armenian benefactor’s brother, Vladimir Hayrapetyan, argues that his brother’s detention is political vengeance.
Levon Hayrapetyan was detained within the framework of an investigation into a case involving a Russian mob.
