YEREVAN. – A new company engaged in aviation engineering and consulting has been set up in Armenia.

The owner of Aquila Technics company Karen Avdalyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they are ready to provide technical support to civil aviation fleet in Armenia, including the president's board and Air Armenia company, on a contractual basis. The company began operations in Russia, where the services are being provided.

The company is still working on single orders, as it has to get international certificates of the Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation and EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).

“Around 80% of the Russian civil aviation fleet is registered in Bermuda because of its simplicity and low cost of registration. We plan to get the Bermuda certificate in 1.5-2 months. This will help us to strengthen our cooperation with Russian colleagues. Receiving EASA, the company is going to negotiate long-term cooperation with European companies,” Avdalyan said.

Along with maintenance, he said, the company can provide consulting on aviation markets, such as leasing of aircraft.
