MOSCOW. – Armenian Meri Kocharyan, 20, who was injured as a result of the subway accident in Moscow, still has not regained consciousness and she continues to be in stable but very critical condition.

Armenian Embassy in Russia adviser Edvard Jambazyan told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Her life is in danger, but there are hopes of stabilizing. We are in contact with the hospital and Meri’s relatives,” he added.

As for Anna Bulghadaryan, 23, the other Armenian who was injured in the accident, she is already transferred from the intensive care unit to a hospital room. She is in critical but stable condition.

Kocharyan had sustained a spine fracture and a brain injury, whereas Bulghadaryan had suffered a bone fracture and a traumatic shock.

Three subway cars were derailed in Moscow Subway on Tuesday morning. As a result, the total number of affected is 162, 23 of whom have lost their lives. There are numerous injured—including two young Armenian women—in hospitals, and a criminal case is instituted on the incident. The subway system’s road service master and his assistant are detained in connection with the criminal case. According to the Russian special investigative services, they are suspected of violating traffic safety rules.
