The Council of European Union added another eight people and three companies to an updated sanction list on Russia.

This brought the number of persons and entities under EU restrictions to 95 persons and 23 entities.

The decisions were adopted by written procedure and will enter into force upon their publication in the EU Official Journal, due to take place later on today, EU Council said in a statement.

“In addition, the Council is due to adopt economic sanctions in view of Russia's role in destabilising Eastern Ukraine through a separate written procedure closing tomorrow, 31 July”.
