YEREVAN. – The Armenian community of Turkey cannot have any position on nomination of John Bass for U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, as it is not a serious factor, editor of the Istanbul-based Armenian-language Zhamanak daily Ara Gocunian told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Armenian community of Turkey has no relation to the decision of the third countries.

“What can we do?” he wonders.

The Armenians of America spoke against Obama’s nomination of John Bass for U.S. Ambassador to Turkey. They are convinced Bass' Senate testimony compounds President Obama’s broken pledge to recognize the Armenian Genocide by retreating even further from the truth and tightening Turkey’s gag-rule on the U.S. Government.
