YEREVAN. – Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan on Friday received military attaches of the foreign diplomatic missions in Armenia.

The goal of the meeting was to inform military attaches about escalation on the border and line of contact with Azerbaijan over the recent days.

Davit Tonoyan briefed representatives of the diplomatic missions about intensification of Azerbaijani diversionary and sniper activities and response of the Armenian side.

Deputy Minister shared the assessments of defense ministry about the goals of escalation by Azerbaijan and possible actions of the Armenian Armed Forces.

Armenian official urged military attaches to take necessary steps through appropriate channels to reduce tensions and hold back the neighboring country from provocative actions and new steps to escalate the situation.
