Georgia hopes for immediate elimination of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia that sparked over recent days, said the Foreign Minister of Georgia Maia Panjikidze.

“We are following with great concern what is happening between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I am absolutely confident that neither our region, nor the world needs another unfrozen conflict, another hotbed of tension. And I am confident that the leaders of both countries will come to understanding and can turn the conflict into peaceful settlement,” the Minister said.

Panjikidze expressed deep concern over the casualties from both sides and expressed hope this will be over, Gruziya Online reported.

“As far as I know there is a meeting between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and this gives me hope that the conflict will be exhausted,” she said.
