YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Economy of Armenia will assume some powers of the governance of the economic policy of the country’s civil aviation.
The respective decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.
Accordingly, the government-affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA) will continue carrying out the technical requirements (flight preparations and air fleet safety) of the aviation sector.
As for the market regulatory activities (permit for regular and charter flights) and decisions toward joining international sectoral agreements, GDCA will fulfill these commitments together with the economy ministry.
