YEREVAN. – Armenia's Emergency Situations Ministry is carrying out events on civil defense in 21 Armenian villages bordering with Azerbaijan, Minister Armen Yeritsyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“The issue of civil defense is a key priority at the moment. I would certainly like to visit the border, but every work has its peculiarities,” he said in response to a question why he had not joined other high ranking officials during their trips to the border.
Azerbaijani side has recently been intensively firing at the Armenian border villages. In addition, Azerbaijani armed forced repeatedly tried to cross the line of contact, but were thrown away to the primary positions. Tensions on border reduced after trilateral meeting of Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani presidents in Sochi.
