Kurdish youth in Turkey have damaged and set ablaze the bust of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey.

A group of Kurdish youth in Turkey’s predominantly Kurdish-populated Hakkari Province staged a protest on Tuesday evening, and against the Turkish gendarmerie’s removal of the monument of a Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) commander and the killing of a 24-year-old Kurdish demonstrator during the ensuing clash, reported Mynet website of Turkey.

First, the youth blocked the street and searched the passing cars. Subsequently, they set fire to Ataturk’s bust, tore it from its place, and rolled it onto the ground.
