ISTANBUL. – Archbishop Aram Atesyan, who is General Vicar of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, participated in the farewell reception of Turkey’s outgoing President, Abdullah Gul.

Atesyan traveled to capital city Ankara where he attended Gul’s farewell reception at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday evening, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Patriarchate. 

During the reception, Archbishop Atesyan wished Gul success in his future endeavors.

Outgoing PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan became winner of the presidential election that was held in Turkey on August 10. And on August 27, Erdogan will formally assume his duties as President of Turkey.
