YEREVAN. – Armenians of Iraq will get an opportunity to get Armenian passports through simplified procedure, Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan said on Thursday.

He noted that earlier only ethnic Armenians from Syria and Lebanon, who applied before September 1, 2014, could get passports at diplomatic missions outside Armenia. The government extended period for a year, until September 1, 2015 and gave preferences to Iraqi Armenians as well.

In addition, Armenian government decided to provide $100,000 for Iraqi Yazidis.
