YEREVAN. – The Armenian fruits and vegetables, which are stuck at the Upper Lars-Kazbegi border checkpoint between Georgia and Russia, are within the limits of their shelf-life still for ten to twenty days.

Karen Baghdasaryan, an official at Armenia’s Spayka international cargo transportation and canned food manufacturing company, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In Baghdasaryan’s words, the trucks that have not yet arrived in Upper Lars have turned back, and the company has halted the new shipments.

“We have informed our Russian partners about the problems in delivery, but due to force majeure, no word has yet been said about the suspension of supplies,” Baghdasaryan concluded.

A landslide occurred on the highway near the Upper Lars-Kazbegi border checkpoint, on Thursday at around 3am.

Artur Arakelyan, who is Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia, had informed earlier that the road is still closed.
