YEREVAN. – Exports of peach from Armenia may reach 3,000 tons in 2014, Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan said.

A total of 780 tons have been exported so far, while only 350 tons were exported by the same period last year. Overall, 955 tons of peaches were exported in 2013.

“On the whole, farmers see bumper crop of peaches this year. There are many peaches in the markets, and neither exporters of fresh fruit, nor the canning factories feel shortage of peaches,” he emphasized.
