YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday received Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, who is in Armenia on an official visit.
In terms of the strengthening of relations between the two countries, the President underscored the mutual visits by senior officials. Sargsyan stressed that Armenian-Georgian relations are at their highest level ever, and this enables to discuss any matter.
The Georgia PM, for his part, noted that he has arrived in Armenia to yet again to ensure his deep respect toward Armenia, its president and the Armenian nation, and to further strengthen Armenian-Georgian relations.
Premier Garibashvili stressed that Armenia is not only Georgia’s neighbor, but its friendly country. In his conviction, these friendly relations should enable to do many useful and very good things for the welfare of the two countries.
In addition, Irakli Garibashvili briefed Serzh Sargsyan on the results of his talks and discussions and the agreements reached within the framework of his visit to Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.
The interlocutors discussed Armenian-Georgian relations and the most recent regional developments.
They pointed with satisfaction to the agreement that was reached during the Armenian President’s recent official visit to Georgia, and with respect to the construction of a new bridge on the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo border checkpoint between the two countries. They also reaffirmed the commitment to accelerating the construction of this bridge.
After the meeting, a working lunch was given at the Armenia Presidential Palace, and in honor of the Georgian PM and his delegation.
