YEREVAN. – The reforms of the Bologna Process also will reach the institutions of higher education of Armenia.

Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan noted the abovementioned, at Monday’s press conference, presenting the results of his first 100 days in office as minister in the new Cabinet.

According to him, these “reforms” refer to the introduction of a credit system in colleges, from where it will be possible to transfer to universities the points achieved in the general education subjects, and to spend the university lecture hours on specialized subjects.

“The credit system has proved its viability and effectiveness in numerous countries; it was applied in both universities and in secondary education. That’s why I believe it’s justified to apply it in Armenia, too,” Ashotyan said.

He added that, initially, a respective pilot program will be tested in several schools of Armenia.
