YEREVAN. – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is following media reports and official information on Azerbaijani Defense Minstrty's website their capture of an Armenian citizen, the ICRC Office in Yerevan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the source, the ICRC requested permission to see the Armenian citizen.

The Azerbaijan MOD on Monday informed about the apprehension—on August 26—of Sargis Ananyan (born in 1961) on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Even though the Azerbaijani media had informed about the Armenian captive several days ago, the official Azerbaijani agencies were not in a hurry to confirm this information.

So, it turns out that Azerbaijan has concealed for one week the fact about the detention of an Armenian civilian.
