YEREVAN. – Armenia's ministry of economy said the number of tourists visiting Armenia increased by 17.3 percent in the first half of 2014 as compared with the same period last year.
Armenia also registered a 30.4-percent growth in internal tourism, head of tourism department Mekhak Apresyan said during a news conference on Wednesday.
The official emphasized that festivals, such as upcoming barbeque festival in Akhtala, will contribute to promotion of local traditions within the country and abroad.
The sixth festival of barbeque, music and art will be held in Akhtala, Lori Region, on September 6.
