YEREVAN. – At present, a total of 171 speed detectors are installed on Armenia’s roads and, in addition, there are monitoring cameras at ninety intersections in capital city Yerevan.

The aforementioned was reported at a press conference on Thursday.

As per Deputy Chief of Police Samvel Hovhannisyan, a road situation analysis is conducted on a regular basis, and in several cases the citizens themselves petition with requests to install speed detectors.

In Hovhannisyan’s words, they are planning to introduce a package of law amendments, and they are discussing an initiative to install mobile monitoring video cameras on Armenia’s roads.
