YEREVAN. – Armenian and Austrian foreign ministers discussed bilateral cooperation during their meeting on Monday, Edward Nalbandian said during a joint press conference with Sebastian Kurz.

Minister Nalbandian called it a good opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and the process of implementation of joint arrangements reached during Armenian leader to Austrian and Austrian president's trip to Armenia. The sides exchanged views on regional and international issues.

The Armenian Minister said the Austrian delegation comprised a large group of businessman, in particular, those representing energy sector. He said this could become an impetus to development of ties. In addition, the parties plan to expand contractual basis in addition to already existing 20 treaties.

For his part, Sebastian Kurz noted that Europe is ready to support Armenia. He said relations with Russia are important for Armenia, but the country should also develop ties with Europe.

Austrian Foreign Minister believes that there is a good opportunity for the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, and Austrian businessmen are interested. According to him, these efforts will be directed to founding a branch of the Austrian Development Agency in Yerevan.
