YEREVAN. – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s enemies are not the Kurds, the Armenians, the Greeks, or the Cypriots; the Turkish government’s enemy is within its own society.

Armenia-based Regional Studies Center Director, political analyst Richard Giragosian stated the aforementioned at a discussion on Tuesday.

In his view, the polarization of and the conflict among the Turkish society will increase and exacerbate.

“It’s important for Armenia as to the neighbor it will have, and it’s very important to carefully follow the processes taking place within Turkey. Turkey’s future is at stake. This is an opportunity to attract the Turkish public attention, from the perspective of the awareness of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide,” Giragosian noted.

He added that this is an opportunity for Armenia to deepen cooperation with Georgia, in order to change the situation after the events in Ukraine.
