YEREVAN. – Armenia Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Friday received a French parliamentary delegation.

Nalbandian highly appreciated the French parliamentarians’ contribution to the development of Armenian-French relations, and noted that parliamentary contacts play a part in the development of these relations, informed the Armenia MFA press service.

He also welcomed the French senators’ and MPs’ visits to Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, or Artsakh, and stressed that such visits enable to get first-hand information on the regional processes.

In turn, the French senators and MPs stated that they are impressed by their visit to Artsakh and their talks with its authorities and people. In their view, despite living in difficult conditions, the people of Artsakh have succeeded in state-building and development. The French parliamentarians assured that they will continue their efforts to further deepen Armenian-French relations.

The interlocutors also conferred on the Armenian and the French delegations’ cooperation within the parliamentary assemblies of international organizations.

At the request of the guests, the Armenian FM briefed them on the ongoing efforts, by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, to achieve a settlement to the Karabakh conflict

The parties also discussed several regional and international matters.
