YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation led by Henry Kerali, World Bank (WB) Regional Director for the South Caucasus.

The PM recalled that Armenia and WB are currently implementing fifteen joint projects, with a total worth of $518 million.

“We want to put collaboration with the World Bank on a qualitatively new basis and further intensify bilateral correlations to carry out new projects,” Abrahamyan noted.

In turn, Kerali stressed that WB stands ready to implement new projects with Armenia, and informed that the WB vice president is planned to visit Armenia. He also underscored the WB-assisted tourism and agricultural programs that are planned to be carried out in the country.

Subsequently, the WB Regional Director for the South Caucasus introduced Laura Bailey, the new WB Country Manager for Armenia, and expressed confidence that Bailey will give new impetus to cooperation with the Armenian government.

Hovik Abrahamyan congratulated Bailey on her appointment and wished her a productive activity. The Armenian PM also expressed the hope that Laura Bailey’s work experience and professional qualities will greatly contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation.

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors conferred on the course of the joint projects, and several other matters that are on the agenda.
