YEREVAN. – Members of the Belarus parliament will visit Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims in Yerevan, Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said during a joint press conference with Belarus NA House of Representatives Vice-Speaker Viktor Guminsky.

Sharmazanov invited the guests to visit Armenia next year for the events marking centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

Deputy Speaker noted hat during the meeting the parties adopted a statement condemning any manifestation of fascism, nationalism and xenophobia.

Armenian and Belarus lawmakers agreed on joint preparations for the events marking 70th anniversary in the Great Patriotic War.

“Timely condemnation of the genocide would have saved the world from many subsequent crimes against humanity,” the Armenian official noted.
