YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Tuesday received Tomasz Orłowski, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Poland, who is in Armenia to hold consultations between the MFAs of the two countries.

Nalbandian praised the Armenian-Polish relations and, in this context, he underscored Polish President Bronisław Komorowski’s visit to Armenia in 2011, and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Poland in 2013.

Deputy FM Orłowski, for his part, stressed that Poland considers Armenia to be an important partner and wishes to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The interlocutors highlighted the need for expanding the legal and contractual framework between the two countries, their closer cooperation within international organizations, deepening trade and economic ties, and expanding collaboration in education and culture.

They also exchanged views on Armenia-European Union (EU) relations, and the ongoing cooperation within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership program.

At the guest’s request, minister Nalbandian presented the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The parties also reflected on several other regional and international matters.
