YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) Speaker Galust Sahakyan on Tuesday received Chinese Ambassador Tian Changchun, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The parliament leader noted that cooperation with China is among Armenia’s priorities and this cooperation is deepening further, informed the NA Information and Public Relations Department. Sahakyan also praised China’s balanced position with respect to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

Reflecting on the events to be held along the lines of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, Sahakyan noted: “The series of events is aimed at achieving the entire international community’s condemnation of genocides.” He also expressed the hope that a Chinese delegation likewise will be on hand at the genocide commemoration events that will be held next year in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.

Expressing his gratitude to the NA chairman for the productive cooperation, Ambassador Tian Changchun, for his part, reflected on the Armenian-Chinese friendship, and assured that the cooperation between Armenia and China will further deepen.

At the end of the talk, Galust Sahakyan thanked the Chinese ambassador for the fruitful cooperation, and wished him success in all his endeavors.
