YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation led by Faisal Al Shaya, who heads the Kuwait-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The PM underscored the need to expand Armenian-Kuwaiti relations, and stressed the existing warm ties between the two countries.

“The Government of Armenia is interested in expanding bilateral trade and economic ties and implementing investment projects. To this end, we are prepared to create favorable conditions for investment for the Kuwaiti capital,” Abrahamyan noted.

In turn, Faisal Al Shaya conveyed to Abrahamyan the warm greetings from the PM of his country, and the official invitation to visit Kuwait. In his words, the bilateral mutual visits will give new impetus to the expansion of Armenian-Kuwaiti cooperation. Al Shaya also stressed that his country wishes to develop trade and economic ties with Armenia.

The interlocutors expressed a conviction that there is great potential for cooperation in several domains, and highlighted the need to conduct direct flights between the two countries.

Faisal Al Shaya added that Kuwait stands ready to assist in the construction of the New Aleppo district in Armenia, and for Syrian Armenians.
