French President Francois Hollande has sent a congratulatory message to his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in connection with the Independence Day of Armenia.

The message of President Hollande states in particular:

"Dear Mr. President,

I am pleased to congratulate you and the Armenian people on the national holiday in Armenia, sincerely wishing peace and prosperity.

In more than 20 years between Armenia and France has formed a special relationship based on friendship and trust. I intend to continue to work together, aimed at deepening ties between the two countries, as it has been for the past two years.

During my official visit to Yerevan in May this year, I had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the important reforms that initiated your country to ensure its development and modernization. I assure you that France will cooperate fully in this process.

Finally, I wish that the negotiations on the Karabakh settlement, in which France is involved as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, positively resolve in the near future. For this purpose I am glad to invite you to Paris at the end of October."
