YEREVAN. – According to an informed source, the rumors, according to which whether the leaders of the three non-government parliamentary political parties (Armenian National Congress (ANC), Prosperous Armenia (PAP), and Heritage) will attend in person to the rally on October 10, are not at all accidental, Iravunk daily reported.

“They say the ANC leader [First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan] expressed great doubts, among narrow circles, on the success of the forthcoming rally.

“He noted that without a demand for change of power, the rally will become a cause for becoming humiliated, and therefore the ANC plans to ask the partner parties to include [on the rally agenda] the demand for Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation. Otherwise, the ANC leader will consider it inexpedient to come to the rally in person.

“They say because of these dispositions, now the PAP and Heritage’s leaders [namely, oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan, and ex-presidential candidate and former FM Raffi Hovannisian likewise] may decide not to come [to the rally], for if one party does not come, the others’ coming means showing themselves off,” Iravunk wrote.
