YEREVAN. – Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan asked the mart workers, who have assembled Tuesday outside the Government Building, to form a twenty-member delegation and come up to his office in forty minutes, to present the matter.

The employees of the marts are protesting against the new amendment to the Law on Turnover Tax, which will come into force on October 1.

First, the PM spoke for a few minutes with the demonstrators outside the Government Building, informed the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter.

The demonstrators stated that they have taken loans and this new amendment to the law will complicate their situation.

Pursuant to the new amendment, the employees at marts in Armenia will have to submit documents to the relevant bodies and with respect to their commodity circulation.

The large businesses, however, often do not provide documents to the small and medium-sized enterprises concerning the products.

Pursuant to the new amendment, a business enterprise will be warned at first, and, subsequently, it will be fined for not submitting a document on its commodity circulation.
