YEREVAN. – NATO's ambitions are focused on contribution to reforms in the states that are working with the bloc, UK Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Leach said during a press conference on Tuesday.

Her remark came in response to a question whether NATO may become an alternative to Russia in ensuring Armenia's security.

The second aspect of NATO's cooperation with such states is to encourage partners so that they could contribute to strengthening and maintaining international security, that is being done by Armenia, Ambassador added.

“In these partnership, cooperating country itself dictates their wishes and action plan, while NATO in this case acts only as a facilitator. In this context, Armenia is an example of a country that in terms of strategic security also cooperates with NATO and continues to find more opportunities to contribute to the work of the peacekeeping forces of the Alliance,” Leach said.
