YEREVAN. – An Armenian citizen that was in Azerbaijani captivity has been repatriated.

Azerbaijani authorities handed over Sargis Ananyan to Armenia on Thursday under mediation of the ICRC, representative of Yerevan ICRC delegation Zara Amatuni told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Sargis Ananyan, a citizen of Armenia, citizen was detained on August 26 nearby Kemerli village. Official confirmation of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry came a week later. And only on September 8, two weeks later, ICRC representatives were for the first time permitted to visit the captive.
