President Michael Sata of Zambia has been transferred to a hospital in New York City, USA, KFOX14 reported.

Sata, 77, was to deliver an address at the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly, but he did not show up in the prescribed time.

There are no details on the Zambian president’s health condition, Gazeta.ru wrote.

Michael Sata had arrived in New York with a 38-member delegation.

If Sata is unable to make any statement at the UN General Assembly, his travel to the US will become a $1.5 million-worth waste of money, Allafrica.com reported.
