On September 28 Helen Clark, UNDP Administrator arrives on a three-day official visit to Armenia, as part of her official tour to the South Caucasus.

During her stay Ms. Clark, together with the Assistant Administrator, Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS, Cihan Sultanoğlu, and the UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, Bradley Busetto,  will meet with President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, as well as representatives of civil society, the international development community, and women leaders to discuss the key development achievements and challenges in Armenia, the country’s main priorities, as well as partnerships aimed at further strengthening sustainable human development in Armenia.

Helen Clark became the UNDP Administrator in April 2009, and is the first woman to lead the organization. She is also the Chair of the UN Development Group, a committee consisting of the heads of all UN funds, programmes and departments working on development issues.

Before that she served three terms as Prime Minister of New Zealand. This is her first visit to Armenia.
