There will be no arms race between Russia and U.S., but Moscow will take necessary steps to ensure its own security, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

There are all measures, political will and skilled professionals, to ensure defensive capacity of the country, he said in an interview with the channel 5.

Lavrov explained that Russia has its national interests, including interest in ensuring national security, and is ready to resist any threats, Interfax reported.
