YEREVAN. – Non-government four parliamentary groups have collected 44 signatures necessary for conveying a special session of the parliament.

The special session will be held on Tuesday evening to discuss new bill on tax turnover drafted by Prosperous Armenia MP Mikael Melkumyan, chairman of the Armenian Union of Small Entrepreneurs Samvel Aslanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Aslanyan and hundreds of protesters gathered near parliament's building on Tuesday to demand cancellation of the controversial bill.

“We gathered here to support the opposition MPs and to call on RPA not to boycott the sitting,” he said.

Talking to the Armenian News-NEWS.am, merchants said they trust the four parties.

Pursuant to the new amendments in the Law on Turnover Tax, which will come into force on Wednesday, a business enterprise will be warned at first, and, subsequently, it will be fined for not submitting a document on its commodity circulation.

The large businesses, however, often do not provide documents to the small and medium-sized enterprises concerning the products.
