Turkish journalist Aydin Engin, who is founder of Turkey’s T24 news website, and Turkish Professor Murat Belge, who is a columnist in the country’s Taraf daily, have received a letter saying that a decision was reached for their death.

An envelope was found, on Monday evening at the door of the T24 office, in which there was information about a planned assassination, the website reported.

Engin and Belge were mentioned in the letter according to which, a decision was made to kill them, and what remained was to determine the day of the murder.

The letter’s writer stressed that he is a patriot and he considers it wrong to think that they want to kill two Turkish intellectuals.

A group of Turkish intellectuals recently criticized the anti-Armenian expressions in Turkey’s school textbooks, and called for an apology to the Armenian schoolchildren and an immediate removal of these expressions from the textbooks.

Aydin Engin and Murat Belge are among the Turkish intellectuals who have signed under this appeal.
