YEREVAN. – The recent statements by Turkish government are hardly encouraging, President of Greece said in Yerevan.

The talks with Turkey on Cyprus issue are in crisis, Karolos Papoulias said during a joint briefing with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan. The latest statements are not encouraging, and Greece is doing everything to put an end to Turkish aggression, he added.

President Papoulias touched upon the situation of Christian groups in Syria, Iraq and the entire Middle East.

“The situation of Christians is causing concern, as they have become a target for violence,” he said.
