YEREVAN. – Armenian lawmakers offer to set up a working group to research the area near Upper Lars checkpoint that is often hit by landslides.

Orinats Yerkir member Levon Dokholyan offered to support the renovation of infrastructure near the checkpoint on Georgian-Russian border.

Speaking in the Armenian parliament on Tuesday, the MP said it is necessary to take some steps because of the frequent landslides on the road that are affecting not only business entities but ordinary citizens who are forced to spend several days without shelter and food.

“Business entities may suffer, and the contracts may be terminated because of delay in supplies. Subsequently, we will suffer economic losses,” he said.
