YEREVAN. – Resources cannot be spared for the preservation of the Armenian schools in the diaspora, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stated during his visit Wednesday to the Ministry of Diaspora.

Abrahamyan attended an event devoted to the sixth anniversary of the ministry, informed the Press Office of the Government of Armenia.

Before this event, however, the PM, accompanied by Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan, toured the ministry.

The Premier congratulated the ministry staff for the six-year-long productive work, and underscored the ministry’s role in the preservation of the Armenian identity.

Abrahamyan stressed that the Armenian government stands ready to assist in the preservation of the Armenian language in the diaspora, and he also welcomed the ministry’s training courses for the Diaspora-Armenian teachers.

The PM highlighted the Diaspora Ministry’s role also in the strengthening of the Armenia-Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)-Diaspora unity.

Subsequently, Hovik Abrahamyan presented to Minister Hakobyan the nominal watch of the Prime Minister of Armenia, and handed the certificates of the new civil servants who have joined the Diaspora Ministry staff.
