YEREVAN. – Armenian Deputy Prime Minister and Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan on Thursday received a delegation from the World Bank (WB) Sustainable Development Department, Europe & Central Asia Region.

They discussed the preparation of a new project toward the development of the tourism infrastructure of Armenia’s southern regions, and the selection of the organizations to carry out this project, informed the Public Relations Department of the Ministry and Territorial Administration of Armenia.

The deputy PM noted that the main objective of the Regional Development Fund will be to assist in the comprehensive development of Armenia’s regions.

The guests considered the idea of establishing this fund positive and interesting, and noted that there is a successful track-record of similar funds in several other countries.

The interlocutors also conferred on the WB-supported ongoing and planned projects regarding drinking water in Armenia.
