YEREVAN. – Turkish construction companies are not working in Armenia, the data obtained by Armenia's urban development ministry says.

Minister Narek Sargsyan said he instructed to verify the information as soon as he saw media reports.

The ministry has applied to Yerevan Municipality as a body issuing permissions for construction in the capital city. No permission to any Turkish company has been issued.

“The same response was received from the urban development departments of regional administrations. Consequently, according to our data, there are no Turkish constructors in Armenia at the moment. I see nothing wrong, if there were. But I do state the fact,” he said during the government's meeting on Thursday.

Earlier Turkey's Sabah newspaper reported about Yusuf Ozturk who announced himself the first Turkish businessman to enter Armenia’s apartment construction business.
